Section 31-23-201 - Definitions

As used in this part 2, unless the context otherwise requires:(1) 'Mayor' means the chief executive of the municipality, whether the official designation of his office is mayor, city manager, or otherwise; except that with respect to municipalities operating under the statutory city manager form of government, the term means the city manager.(2) 'Subdivision' means any parcel of land which is to be used for condominiums, apartments, or any other multiple-dwellings units, unless such land was previously subdivided and the filing accompanying such subdivision complied with municipal regulations applicable to subdivisions of substantially the same density, or the division of a lot, tract, or parcel of land into two or more lots, plats, sites, or other divisions of land for the purpose, whether immediate or future, of sale or of building development. It includes resubdivision and, when appropriate to the context, relates to the process of subdividing or to the land or territory subdivided.L. 75: Entire title R&RE, p. 1145, § 1, effective July 1.
