(1) Prior to January 1, 1981, each assessor shall prepare and maintain full, accurate, and complete maps showing the parcels of land in his county. The maps shall include a master county index map, together with applicable township, section, and quarter-section maps, depending on density. Guidelines shall be established by the administrator to produce uniformity throughout the state.
