On and after July 1, 2022, the preservice performance assessment, edTPA, as adopted by the State Board of Education on December 7, 2016, shall be used exclusively as an accountability tool for teacher preparation programs, as defined in section 10-10a, offered at institutions of higher education in the state. The results of such preservice performance assessment shall not be used by the State Board of Education to deny an application for the issuance of an initial educator certificate under section 10-145b.(P.A. 23-159, S. 1.)History: P.A. 23-159 effective June 27, 2023.
