§ 10-156a

Each professional employee certified by the State Board of Education and employed by a local or regional board of education of any town or regional school district to work directly with children shall have a guaranteed uninterrupted duty-free period for lunch which shall be scheduled as a single period of consecutive minutes that is the greater of thirty minutes or the duration prescribed in the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by the organization designated or elected as the exclusive bargaining representative for such professional employee.(1967, P.A. 465; P.A. 78-218, S. 109; P.A. 87-250, S. 10, 11; P.A. 22-80, S. 14.)History: P.A. 78-218 specified applicability to employees of local or regional boards of education; P.A. 87-250 provided that the lunch period be scheduled as a single period of consecutive minutes; P.A. 22-80 added 'uninterrupted' and provision re such uninterrupted duty-free lunch period to be greater of 30 minutes or duration prescribed in collective bargaining agreement, effective July 1, 2022.Cited. 216 C. 253.
