§ 10-183cc

Connecticut Title 10 — Connecticut law

If the payee for any payment of benefits under the provisions of this chapter is a minor, or if the Teachers' Retirement Board finds that any payee is legally incapable of giving a valid receipt and discharge for any payment due him, the board may make the payment, or any part thereof, to the person or persons whom it finds to be caring for and supporting the payee, unless it has received due notice of claim from a duly appointed guardian or committee of the payee. A payment so made shall be a complete discharge of the obligations of the state to the extent of and as to such payment, and the state shall have no obligations regarding the application of the payment.(P.A. 82-401, S. 1, 5.)
