Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 10-217d and 10-217e, if the Commissioner of Consumer Protection determines that a carcinogen, potential human carcinogen or toxic substance contained in any art or craft material cannot be ingested, inhaled or otherwise absorbed into the body during any reasonably foreseeable use of the material so as to pose adverse health effects, said commissioner may exempt such art or craft material from the provisions of said sections 10-217d and 10-217e.(P.A. 88-308, S. 5; June 30 Sp. Sess. P.A. 03-6, S. 146(c); P.A. 04-189, S. 1.)History: June 30 Sp. Sess. P.A. 03-6 replaced Commissioner of Consumer Protection with Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, effective July 1, 2004; P.A. 04-189 repealed Sec. 146 of June 30 Sp. Sess. P.A. 03-6, thereby reversing the merger of the Departments of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, effective June 1, 2004.
