Each local and regional board of education and governing authority for each state charter school, interdistrict magnet school and endowed academy approved pursuant to section 10-34, shall make available in the schools under its jurisdiction for purchase by students enrolled in such schools nutritious and low-fat foods, which shall include, but shall not be limited to, low-fat dairy products and fresh or dried fruit at all times when food is available for purchase by students in such schools during the regular school day.(P.A. 04-224, S. 2; P.A. 06-63, S. 6.)History: P.A. 04-224 effective July 1, 2004; P.A. 06-63 added reference to governing authority of each state charter school, interdistrict magnet school and endowed academy, changed the reference to 'nutritious, low-fat foods' to 'nutritious and low-fat foods', and deleted language re drinks, including low-fat milk, natural fruit juices and water, effective July 1, 2006.
