The local or regional board of education may contract with a federal governmental agency for funds to establish a demonstration scholarship program to exist for a period of up to five years, such board to receive such state and local aid for any of its students as would otherwise be provided by law regardless of whether or not such students participate in a demonstration scholarship program, which funds may be expended under the demonstration scholarship program as the demonstration contract shall provide and within the demonstration area.(1972, P.A. 122, S. 3; P.A. 78-218, S. 172.)History: P.A. 78-218 substituted 'local' for 'town' boards of education.
