Each local board of education for a municipality shall consult with the legislative body of such municipality, or in the case of a municipality for which the legislative body is a town meeting or a representative town meeting, the board of selectmen, prior to purchasing payroll processing or accounts payable software systems to determine whether such systems may be purchased or shared on a regional basis.(June Sp.
