The Office of Higher Education may, within the limits of available appropriations, federal funds available under the National Service Act and any other funds available, assist in providing tutors for eligible students. Such tutors may be members of the National Service Corps, as designated by the Office of Higher Education, or students at a public or independent institution of higher education in Connecticut. Any student assigned as a tutor pursuant to this section shall receive academic credit pursuant to section 10a-149b.(May Sp. Sess.
