§ 10a-55

For purposes of this section and sections 10a-55a to 10a-55c, inclusive, and section 5 of public act 90-259*:(1) 'Institution of higher education' means a constituent unit of the state system of higher education, as defined in section 10a-1, or an independent institution of higher education, as defined in subsection (a) of section 10a-173.(2) 'Housing' means all residence halls and sorority and fraternity residences owned or under the control of an institution of higher education.(3) 'Employee' means a person who is employed by an institution of higher education and is not a student at such institution.(P.A. 90-259, S. 1, 6; P.A. 14-65, S. 8.)*Note: Section 5 of public act 90-259 is special in nature and therefore has not been codified but remains in full force and effect according to its terms.History: P.A. 14-65 redefined 'institution of higher education' in Subdiv.
