Any town, city, borough, fire district or school district may raise money by taxation and make appropriations for defraying the expense of contract or regional library service, and shall be subject to the duties and entitled to the benefits prescribed by this chapter relating to free public libraries in towns or other municipalities.(1949 Rev., S. 1669.)
