(a) Each school bus, as defined in subsection (a) of section 14-275, used for the transportation of school children and each motor vehicle used to transport passengers for hire shall be equipped with a defrosting device, in good working order and adequate to prevent the accumulation of snow, ice, frost or condensation on the windshield.(b) Operation of a motor vehicle or, as owner, permitting the operation of a motor vehicle, in violation of any provision of this section, shall be an infraction.(1949 Rev., S. 2444; February, 1965, P.A. 448, S. 10; P.A. 75-577, S. 53, 126; P.A. 90-263, S. 47, 74.)History: 1965 act substituted 'school bus' for 'motor vehicle for hire,' deleted provision making defroster requirement applicable only during winter storms and added reference to frost and condensation in Subsec.
