Any operator of a motor vehicle who strikes any officer, as defined in section 14-1, or any fire police officer, appointed in accordance with section 7-313a, with such motor vehicle while such officer or fire police officer is engaged in traffic control or regulation, provided such officer is in uniform or prominently displaying the badge of his office and such fire police officer is in compliance with the provisions of section 7-313a, (1) shall be fined not less than one hundred fifty dollars or more than two hundred dollars, and (2) for a subsequent offense, shall be fined not more than two hundred fifty dollars or imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both.(P.A. 04-250, S. 4; P.A. 05-152, S. 1; 05-288, S. 60.)History: P.A. 05-152 deleted provision re operator deemed to have committed an infraction and made technical changes; P.A. 05-288 made technical changes, effective July 13, 2005.
