No operator of a student transportation vehicle, as defined in section 14-212, while engaged in the transportation of school children to and from school or school activities may receive or discharge any child in a location where such child may cross any highway to board the vehicle or to reach his residence or other destination, except as approved by the Commissioner of Education.(P.A. 89-320, S. 10, 12; P.A. 90-112, S. 9, 14.)History: P.A. 90-112 substituted 'student transportation vehicle' for 'motor vehicle, other than a registered school bus, owned by or under contract to a town, regional school district, public, private or religious school'.
