Each person who sells, offers for sale or has in his possession for the purpose of selling any gasoline or any other product intended for motorboats or motor vehicles shall, at the request of the commissioner or any of his deputies or authorized representatives, furnish to the commissioner a statement in writing, giving the name and address of the person from whom such gasoline or other product was so purchased or obtained.(1949 Rev., S. 2547.)
