All special acts and municipal ordinances contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this part are superseded and shall be of no force or effect. No political subdivision of the state shall enact or attempt to enforce any ordinance or regulation respecting the licensing, registration or numbering of vessels or impose any fee for the right to operate a vessel on any waterway within its territorial limits.(1961, P.A. 506, S. 24; P.A. 81-423, S. 17, 25.)History: P.A. 81-423 inserted references to registration and replaced 'motor boat(s)' with 'vessel(s)' consistent with other sections of the act.
