It is hereby declared that the business of transporting natural gas within the state by interstate or intrastate natural gas pipeline companies is affected with the public interest and that the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the state require regulation in matters relating to the transportation of natural gas to the extent hereinafter provided.(1951, S. 2624d.)
