The Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services is designated as the state agency to administer the Mental Health Act as authorized under Public Law 487 of the 79th Congress, as from time to time amended, and shall receive and distribute federal and state funds which become available for mental health services under said act.(1949 Rev., S. 3828; 1955, S. 1540d; P.A. 95-257, S. 11, 58; P.A. 01-195, S. 135, 181.)History: Sec. 17-219 transferred to Sec. 17a-453 in 1991; P.A. 95-257 replaced Commissioner and Department of Mental Health with Commissioner and Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, effective July 1, 1995; P.A. 01-195 made technical changes, effective July 11, 2001.
