(a) As used in this section, 'disqualification' has the same meaning as provided in section 14-1.(b) Not later than January 1, 2023, the Commissioner of Correction shall make suitable space and technology, as necessary, available for the (1) preparation of the commercial driver's license knowledge test as provided by or in conjunction with a regional workforce development board established under section 31-3k, and (2) administration of the commercial driver's license knowledge test, to incarcerated persons who will be reentering the community in six months or less and who are not subject to disqualification from driving a commercial motor vehicle or subject to suspension, revocation or cancellation of operating privileges in any state.(c) Not later than January 1, 2023, the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles shall assign personnel and provide other resources, as necessary, to administer the commercial driver's license knowledge test in a written or electronic manner in any institution or facility of the Department of Correction deemed appropriate by the Commissioners of Motor Vehicles and Correction.(P.A. 22-10, S. 1.)
