The Department of Public Health shall, within available appropriations, establish a comprehensive cancer plan for the state of Connecticut. Such plan shall provide for (1) creation of a state-wide smoking cessation program targeting Medicaid recipients, (2) development and implementation of a program to encourage colorectal screenings for state residents, (3) development and implementation of a state-wide clinical trials network, (4) identification of services for, and provision of assistance to, cancer survivors, and (5) identification of, and the provision of services to, organizations that offer educational programs on hospice or palliative care.(P.A. 06-195, S. 52.)
