In a facility licensed pursuant to this chapter, a physician assistant, advanced practice registered nurse, registered nurse or licensed practical nurse may, except with respect to an order for schedule II controlled substances, reduce to writing the oral or written order of a prescribing practitioner, as defined in section 20-571, and transmit the order to a pharmacy licensed under sections 20-570 to 20-625, inclusive. Such transmitted order shall contain the name of the prescribing practitioner and shall be treated as a written prescription for purposes of sections 20-570 to 20-625, inclusive.(P.A. 91-27, S. 1; P.A. 95-264, S. 48.)History: P.A. 95-264 made technical changes.
