Each hospital, as defined in section 19a-490, shall notify each patient, or where appropriate and permitted by state and federal privacy laws, the patient's representative or guardian, upon such patient's admission to the hospital, of the patient's rights enumerated in the federal Medicare conditions of participation. Such notification shall (1) be in writing, (2) specifically identify the rights in the federal Medicare conditions of participation, and (3) provide information regarding the means of redress or complaint available to patients, including, but not limited to, contact information for the Department of Public Health.(P.A. 05-128, S. 1.)
