A prescribing practitioner who, as part of his practice, dispenses any drug other than professional samples shall notify the Commissioner of Consumer Protection that he is engaged in the dispensing of drugs and shall, biennially, upon the date of renewal of the controlled substance registration required by section 21a-317, inform the commissioner of his intent to continue to dispense drugs to his patients.(P.A. 85-545, S. 4; P.A. 95-264, S. 66; June 30 Sp.
