Nothing in sections 23-5a to 23-5i, inclusive, shall limit any other duly appointed public authority from exercising responsibility related to the suppression of fire, or any noxious insect, animal or plant, when such action is deemed necessary to protect public health or safety.(1969, P.A. 727, S. 9.)
