With the approval of the Governor, the commissioner or the commissioner's designee may: (1) Represent the state on any regional or interstate organization for civil preparedness and may, on behalf of the state, enter into reciprocal mutual aid arrangements with other states; (2) establish and operate such area or district offices as may be necessary to control and coordinate civil preparedness preparations and mutual aid among communities.(June, 1951, S. 1908d; P.A. 73-544, S. 4; P.A. 04-219, S. 14.)History: P.A. 73-544 substituted 'civil preparedness' for 'civil defense' where appearing; P.A. 04-219 substituted commissioner or commissioner's designee for director and substituted numerical Subdiv. designators for Subsec. designators, effective January 1, 2005.
