Any person may, and any policeman, with the consent of the authority to which he is subject, shall, go to any part of the state when required by the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection, and, while so acting under the authority of the commissioner, shall have all the powers conferred on state policemen and shall be paid such sum as is fixed by said commissioner.(1949 Rev., S. 3652; P.A. 77-614, S. 486, 610; P.A. 00-99, S. 74, 154; P.A. 11-51, S. 134.)History: P.A. 77-614 replaced state police commissioner with commissioner of public safety, effective January 1, 1979; P.A. 00-99 deleted reference to deputy sheriff, effective December 1, 2000; pursuant to P.A. 11-51, 'Commissioner of Public Safety' was changed editorially by the Revisors to 'Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection', effective July 1, 2011.
