(a) The Governor is authorized to request the head of any federal department administering a grant-in-aid program under any federal law which requires that a single state agency or multimember board or commission be established or designated to administer or supervise the administration of the program, that such federal department waive the single state agency or multimember board or commission provision of such federal law in accordance with section 204 of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Act of 1968.(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of any other general statute, upon the waiver by the head of a federal department pursuant to subsection (a) of this section, the Governor may authorize and direct that the program for which such waiver has been obtained be administered by more than one state agency, board or commission.(1969, P.A. 588, S. 1, 2.)
