Water in sufficient quantity shall be provided on each floor, occupied by one or more families, in each tenement house which is located on premises abutting on a street or alley in which pipes for the distribution of water to the public are laid, and, when such house is not so located, a sufficient supply of wholesome water shall be provided on a part of the lot where it will not be contaminated from water closets, barns, garbage or other sources of impurity.(P.A. 79-571, S. 76.)
