(a) Within available appropriations, juvenile prosecutors employed by the Division of Criminal Justice on October 5, 2009, shall be deemed to have been appointed by the Criminal Justice Commission in accordance with section 51-278 and shall have and exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of an assistant state's attorney and have the same jurisdiction as an assistant state's attorney as provided in section 51-281.(b) Within available appropriations, on and after October 5, 2009, any prosecutorial official assigned to handle juvenile matters in the criminal session of the Superior Court shall have been appointed by the Criminal Justice Commission in accordance with section 51-278.(Sept.
