The costs of the appraisal shall be paid by the officer and charged in his fees; and the expenses thus incurred by either party shall be taxed as part of the costs in the cause; and the officer who served such writ shall make return of what has been done in the premises to the court to which such writ is returnable.(1949 Rev., S. 8038.)
