(a) No person, firm or corporation whose interest is adverse to that of a person receiving personal injuries as a result of a tortious act may negotiate any contract, written or oral, or any settlement to release such person, firm or corporation from liability, within fifteen days from the date of the tortious act.(b) Any contract, settlement or release obtained in violation of this section shall be voidable at the option of the releasor upon restoration of the consideration.(1959, P.A. 494; P.A. 82-160, S. 237.)History: P.A. 82-160 made minor change in wording and divided section into Subsecs.
