Any person who, with intent to defraud another, wilfully removes, defaces, conceals, alters or destroys the manufacturer's serial number or other distinguishing number, name or identification mark on any motor, apparatus, appliance, device or mechanism operated by or designed principally for the use of electricity or on any part, container, cabinet, receptacle or equipment thereof, or who aids or abets such removal, defacement, concealment, alteration or destruction, shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars or imprisoned not more than six months or both.(1949 Rev., S. 8468.)
