(a) A person is guilty of participation in a rigged contest if he knowingly engages in, sponsors, produces, judges or otherwise participates in a publicly exhibited sporting or other contest knowing that the contest is not being conducted in compliance with the rules and usages purporting to govern it, by reason of conduct which would be criminal under section 53a-162.(b) Participation in a rigged contest is a class A misdemeanor.(1969, P.A. 828, S. 166; 1971, P.A. 871, S. 40.)History: 1971 act substituted 'section 53a-162' for 'this section' in Subsec.
