The property of any parking authority created under the authority of any general or special act shall be exempt from taxation, unless otherwise specifically provided in such general or special act or in the ordinance or resolution creating such parking authority. Any such parking authority may invest temporarily in direct obligations of the United States of America such portions of the proceeds received from the sale of bonds or other funds as is deemed available for such purpose.(1953, S. 290d.)
