The moderator in each polling place shall have charge of the primary held therein. The other officials shall have, as nearly as may be, the same duties as at a regular election. The checkers at each polling place shall check the name of each elector on the list or lists of eligible electors of the municipality or the voting district, as the case may be, when the elector offers himself to vote.
