§ 9.701

There is established the 'Citizens' Election Fund', which shall be a separate, nonlapsing account within the General Fund. The fund may contain any moneys required by law to be deposited in the fund. Investment earnings credited to the assets of the fund shall become part of the assets of the fund. The State Treasurer shall administer the fund. All moneys deposited in the fund shall be used for the purposes of sections 9-700 to 9-716, inclusive.(Oct. 25 Sp. Sess. P.A. 05-5, S. 2; June Sp. Sess. P.A. 07-1, S. 97; June Sp. Sess. P.A. 07-1 made $1,000,000 limit on administrative costs deducted by commission applicable to fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, increased limit to $2,300,000 during any fiscal year thereafter and made technical changes, effective July 1, 2007; June Sp. Sess. P.A. 09-3 eliminated authority of commission to deduct certain administrative costs from fund, effective September 9, 2009.
