§ 4971

Goods and chattels, taken in execution by a sheriff shall not be sold until the expiration of 30 days after the levy thereon and notice thereof to the defendant, unless the court, issuing the execution, shall, upon application of the plaintiff, or of the officer holding the execution, and on its being shown that the goods and chattels are of a perishable nature, or will create a charge by keeping, order the same to be sold sooner.
