For purposes of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply: (1) 'Delaware Geospatial Information Clearinghouse' means a web-enabled, electronic resource for the collection, organization, storage, and dissemination of metadata and other information to assist in the sharing of geospatial data and information. (2) 'Geographic Information System' and 'GIS' both mean a system for capturing, storing, analyzing and managing data and associated attributes which are spatially referenced to the earth. (3) 'Geospatial' means data and/or information that identify the geographic location and characteristics of natural or constructed features and boundaries on the earth. This information may be derived from, among other things, remote sensing, mapping, and surveying technologies.
