§ 311

(a) The county governments of Kent County, of New Castle County and of Sussex County may enter into contracts with some reliable insurance company or companies doing business in the State to insure the employees or appointed officers of the counties against injury or death incurred by such employees or appointed officers while performing their duties as employees or appointed officers of the counties. (b) The county governments of Kent County, of New Castle County and of Sussex County may at any time elect to be bound by the compensatory provisions of the Delaware Workmen's Compensation Laws, and the county governments shall be the sole judges of the kind of insurance and the amount thereof which will best execute the purposes and provisions of this section.36 Del.
