31. Definitions. For the purposes of this subchapter, the term: (1) 'Hate group' means an organization or group of individuals whose goals, activities, and advocacy are primarily or substantially based on a shared antipathy, hatred, hostility, or violence towards people of one or more different races, ethnicities, religions, nationalities, genders, or sexual or gender identities. (2) 'MPD' means the Metropolitan Police Department. (3) 'ODCA' means the Office of the District of Columbia Auditor. (4) 'White supremacy' means a hate group whose shared antipathy, hatred, hostility, or violence is based on the belief that white people are innately superior to other races. (Apr. 21, 2023, D.C. Law 24-345, § 125, 70 DCR 7904.) Applicability Section 7097 of D.C. Law 25-50 amended section 301(a)(1) of D.C. Law 24-345 removing the applicability provision impacting this section. Therefore the creation of this section by section 125 of Law 24-345 has been implemented. Applicability of D.C. Law 24-345: § 301 of D.C.
