1004.96 Community education.—(1) Pursuant to this section and State Board of Education rule, each school board and the Board of Trustees for the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind may apply to the Department of Education for a community education grant. An applicant shall include in the grant application a description of the community education program and process through which the program is developed.(2) The department shall give priority to applications that include:(a) Centers that serve the most students within available resources.(b) Programs for which funds are matched by the Federal Government or other nonstate sources and which are appropriate within the context of community education.(c) Programs that provide before-school and after-school activities for children.History.—s. 239, ch. 2002-387.
