1013.82 Contracts of institutions for supplies, utility services, and building construction exempt from operation of county or municipal ordinance or charter.—(1) University boards of trustees are authorized to contract for supplies, utility services, and building construction without regulation or restriction by municipal or county charter or ordinance. Contractual arrangements shall be in the best interests of the state and shall give consideration to rates, adequacy of service, and the dependability of the contractor.(2) Any municipal or county charter, ordinance, or regulation that serves to restrict or prohibit the intent of subsection (1) shall be inoperative.History.—s. 877, ch. 2002-387.
