267.062 Naming of state buildings and other facilities.—(1) Except as specifically provided by law, no state building, road, bridge, park, recreational complex, or other similar facility shall be named for any living person.(2) The division shall, after consulting with the Florida Historical Commission, recommend several persons whose contributions to the state have been of such significance that the division may recommend that state buildings and facilities be named for them.(3) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (1) or s. 1013.79(11), any state building, road, bridge, park, recreational complex, or other similar facility of a state university may be named for a living person by the university board of trustees in accordance with regulations adopted by the Board of Governors of the State University System.History.—ss. 1, 2, ch. 71-267; s. 50, ch. 86-163; s. 7, ch. 2001-199; s. 5, ch. 2007-246; s. 18, ch. 2011-177.
