384.288 Fees and other compensation; payment by board of county commissioners.—(1) For the services required to be performed under the provisions of ss. 384.27, 384.28, and 384.281, compensation shall be paid as follows:(a) The sheriff shall receive the same fees and mileage as are prescribed for like services in criminal cases.(b) The counsel appointed by the court to represent an indigent person shall receive compensation as provided in s. 27.5304.(2) All court-related fees, mileage, and charges provided to the sheriff pursuant to paragraph (1)(a) shall be taxed by the court as costs in each proceeding and shall be paid by the board of county commissioners. All compensation provided to court-appointed counsel pursuant to paragraph (1)(b) shall be taxed by the court as costs and paid by the state.History.—s. 37, ch. 88-380; s. 681, ch. 95-148; s. 68, ch. 2004-265.
