394.4786 Intent.—(1) The Legislature intends that all hospitals, excluding hospitals owned and operated by the department or the Department of Corrections, be assessed on a continuing basis an amount equal to 1.5 percent of the hospital’s annual net operating revenues and that the assessments be deposited into the Public Medical Assistance Trust Fund.(2) Further, the Legislature intends that a specialty psychiatric hospital that provides health care to specified indigent patients be eligible for reimbursement up to the amount that hospital contributed to the Public Medical Assistance Trust Fund in the previous fiscal year.History.—s. 1, ch. 89-355; s. 25, ch. 96-169.
