§ 397.581

397.581 Unlawful activities relating to assessment and treatment; penalties.—(1) A person may not knowingly and willfully:(a) Furnish false information for the purpose of obtaining emergency or other involuntary admission of another person.(b) Cause or otherwise secure, or conspire with or assist another to cause or secure, any emergency or other involuntary procedure of another person under false pretenses.(c) Cause, or conspire with or assist another to cause, without lawful justification, the denial to any person of any right accorded pursuant to this chapter.(2) A person who violates subsection (1) commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 and by a fine not exceeding $5,000.History.—s. 4, ch. 93-39; s. 26, ch. 2009-132; s. 25, ch. 2024-245.
