337.135 Socially and economically disadvantaged business enterprises; punishment for false representation.—(1) It is unlawful for any individual to fraudulently represent an entity as a socially and economically disadvantaged business enterprise for purposes of qualifying for certification as such an enterprise under a program of the department designed to assist socially and economically disadvantaged business enterprises in the receipt of contracts with the department for the provision of goods or services. Any person who violates this section is guilty of a felony of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.(2) An individual found in violation of subsection (1) shall not create a new corporate structure for the purpose of circumventing this section.History.—s. 3, ch. 87-93.
