489.146 Privatization of services.—Notwithstanding any other provision of this part relating to the review of licensure applications, issuance of licenses and renewals, collection of revenues, fees, and fines, service of documents, publications, and printing, and other ministerial functions of the department relating to the regulation of contractors, the department shall make all reasonable efforts to contract with one or more private entities for provision of such services, when such services can be provided in a more efficient manner by private entities. The department or the board shall retain final authority for licensure decisions and rulemaking, including all appeals or other legal action resulting from such licensure decisions or rulemaking.History.—s. 16, ch. 97-228; s. 85, ch. 2005-2; s. 74, ch. 2013-18.
