§ 626.929

626.929 Origination, acceptance, placement of surplus lines business.—(1) A licensed and appointed general lines agent while also licensed and appointed as a surplus lines agent under this part may originate surplus lines business and may accept surplus lines business from any other originating Florida-licensed general lines agent appointed and licensed as to the kinds of insurance involved and may compensate such agent therefor.(2) A managing general agent while licensed and appointed as a surplus lines agent under this part may accept and place solely such surplus lines business as is originated by a Florida-licensed general lines agent appointed and licensed as to the kinds of insurance involved and may compensate such agent therefor.(3) No such general lines agent shall knowingly misrepresent to the surplus lines agent any material fact involved in any such insurance or in the eligibility thereof for placement with a surplus lines insurer.(4) A general lines agent while licensed as a surplus lines agent under this part may appoint these licenses with a single surplus license agent appointment pursuant to s. 624.501.
